June 24 - June 30, 2006 - GRABAAWR 2006 started out on Sunday June 25th in Eagle River, WI in the rain for the first hour
of the 52 mile ride to Rhinelander, WI, but that was worst of the weather. This year's ride had almost prefect biking weather
with little or no winds and if there was a wind it was a tailwind. The mornings were pretty cold with starting temps in the
upper 40's, but it would warm up quickly. The shortest day ride was the first day of 52 miles and the longest day was 84
miles. I pretty much cruised through the whole week riding 18 to 25 MPH with a downhill top speed of 42 MPH. Rode with a
couple of fast riders and pace lines a couple of times, but most of the other riders were pretty slow. There was only one
tough up hill and it was on the last day, but I powered up the hill and passed a bunch of riders who were walking their bikes
up to the top. GRABAAWR 2007 is now less than 12 months away!!!
